Dandenong Wellbeing Center

The Dandenong Wellbeing Centre is poised to emerge as a cutting-edge facility, seamlessly integrating a spectrum of amenities to cater to diverse health and wellness needs. This state-of-the-art complex will house indoor pools, a gymnasium, dry program rooms, and a suite of community health facilities, complemented by essential support spaces. The indoor aquatic dimension will feature a 50m pool, learn-to-swim and leisure pools, along with a distinctive inclusion of two warm water program pools.

The decision to incorporate two warm water pools was substantiated by a comprehensive demand analysis and business case development, revealing a robust need for programmable warm water spaces in the Dandenong community. These pools will serve distinct purposes—one dedicated to structured programming and the other earmarked for casual use, aligning with social and wellness motivations. This thoughtful approach reflects a nuanced understanding of community needs, ensuring the facility’s relevance and accessibility.

Beyond aquatic offerings, the dry fitness and wellbeing areas are strategically designed to foster participation by mitigating the intimidating atmosphere often associated with contemporary gym environments. The holistic vision extends to integrated community facilities, encompassing over 200 sqm of allied health consulting suites, community rooms, a café, and an integrated sports pavilion catering to the adjacent hockey fields. This holistic and inclusive design paradigm positions the Dandenong Wellbeing Centre not merely as a recreational space but as a community hub, fostering health, well-being, and social engagement. As it takes shape, this facility promises to be a beacon of modern wellness, responding dynamically to the diverse needs of the Dandenong community.
